Krimmler Ache – “The Jewel”
“The jewel” of our waters has its source at an altitude of about 2500 m at the Krimmler Törl and runs above the waterfalls over a length of about 15km across the Krimmler Achental. You can expect a natural one Fly fishing waters with the character of a meadow river and a width of 10-20 m. Short sections in mountain stream style are easy to walk on.
Below the waterfalls between beautiful stone pine forests, you meet a mountain stream mixed water with medium-sized and large pools, these are a little more difficult to commit, but do not deter the real fly fisherman.
This beautiful body of water is under nature protection and may be fished by a maximum of 10 fishermen a day. The whole route is catch and release. Reservation requested.
Felberbach (fly only)
Coming from Hintersee, this approx. 6-12 m wide mountain stream flows directly into Mittersill, near the hotel, into the Salzach. You will find plenty of medium to large pools to be skied over the entire length of 12 km. Somewhat difficult to walk on due to the high embankments, but the fish are usually right on the bank in these places.
Stubach (bow tie only)
Middle meadow river with a width of 10-15 m, partly very deep pools – easy to walk through.
Habach (mixed waters)
The Habach rises at the end of the Habach Valley and is additionally fed by several side streams on its way to the Salzach. A very wild mountain stream with medium to large pools, which is often very difficult to walk due to the many trees.
Hollersbach (bow tie only)
The middle mountain stream rises at the end of the Hollersbach valley in the Kratzbergsee, is characterized by its medium and large pools and is easy to walk up to the gorges at the beginning of the valley.
Finkausee connecting stream to the Gerlos reservoir (fly only)
Small mountain stream of Wilder Gerlos rather flat with medium current, densely overgrown with small pools but easy to walk.
